When i heard that a sequel was coming for the original Boondock saints I was quite happy. The first movie was a bit like Crank, lots of action, and still a decent, yet unbelievable, plot. The Boondock saints are two Irish guys who, through some vision, decide to kill gangsters. Most people call them saints because of this, and even the NYPD helps them out. In the end they execute some leader gangster in court. Basically a really good ending.

The second movie picks up after the court killing, and the saints are back in Ireland. They have beards, and they are doing stuff, i don’t known.. it just didn’t make any freaking sense whatsoever, but they were in Ireland. Then some priest gets killed in New York in an attempt to lure out the saints. The son of the mobster they killed wants revenge.. Then there is a whole scene were they shower and shave, all men love to see that kinda stuff right?

They take some oil tanker ship to New York and meet some stupid Mexican who finds out that they are the saints. Now this Mexican character acts so shitty and has such a shit role in the movie that the moment he enters the story everything turns to shit. In the first movie Rocco was “the funny man” and added some comedy. They replaced him with some Mexican douche who is about as funny as rape. His jokes suck and he just RUINS the whole movie. His “non obscure” car is a pimped out beetle with neon lights and its just trashy. He also gets his own guns which have the colors of the Mexican flag. Its just retarded really.

And that is pretty much it.. there are two action scenes, both which suck and are very unlike the original movie. One of the best things about the first movie was the CSI, Law&Order, Criminal investigation type scenes were the police tried to guess how the saints killed the gangsters. The guy who did this was really funny and played his role very well. He got replaced by some hot young blond wearing high heels. The two girls who watched this movie with me just started complaining about her every time she was on the screen..

In the end I felt cheated. The story is not that bad, really (i am having trouble convincing myself here)! The characters are stupid, the action scenes are lame, and everything else sucks. I am glad i didn’t pay for a theater ticket for this. The director should be complimented on his fuckup skills, all he had to do was make the saints go to a different city then New York and kick some ass there. I would have been very content to watch the saints go on a killing spree in Las Vegas, or even somewhere in Europe like Amsterdam or Paris. Managing to fuckup this simple formula can only be applauded because it has to take more effort to turn it to shit then it takes to make a decent movie.

The problem with all these file formats is that they usually aint supported by your dvd player and because of that you are going to have to convert the file so your DVD player will be able to play the file. To convert the file you can get lots of different software, but most of them are paid or hard to work with. Others have verry limited options, and are only able to convert file formats like .mov or .flv. I have been searching the web for a few hours and found the following piece of software:

Now ConvertXtoDVD is not a free application, but you can get a serial real easy here: link to serials This is a great piece of software that allows you to create a menu for your dvd, it sets up chapters for you, automatically inserts the subtitles (you do need them to be in the same folder as your movie file) and has lots of other features.

Another big advantage is the converting time, convertation software takes MUCH longer than ConvertXtoDVD, certainly on my old and crappy laptop, it takes about 1.5-2 hours to convert (other software took me 6-8 hours for a single dvd sometimes). But alright, download ConvertXtoDVD and here’s a simple guide for your first movie burning project.

Burning your dvd

So when you downloaded ConvertXtoDVD you’r ready to go i would advice you to take the time to look into a nice menu, select the one you prefer and customize it, you can add sounds, titles, text, and backgrounds… so its worth looking into, but thats for another article i guess!

The actual burning proces is simple:

1. Download the movie if you didnt do that jet
2. Download a subtitle for the movie in the language of your choice (optional), a good subtitle source is: link
3. Insert the files in your project
4. Set up the dvd menu (titlescreen)
5. Start converting
6. Burn the project to a dvd (if you inserted a dvd during or before the proces it burns on that automatically)

Printing a dvd cover / layar

Now that you burned your dvd you dont want it to just lay around, you need a nice casing with a dvd cover and layer! Again, after searching the web i found a nice piece of equipment fit for the job and best of all its free.

UndercoverXP (official download link)

“UndercoverXP is a small program to easily print CD and DVD covers. It supports JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP formats and can automatically scale front covers, back covers, front + inside, inlays, DVD Boxes, Digital Pictures and CD/DVD labels to the correct sizes. Other formats can be easily added via a graphical format editor. UnderCoverXP is written in C++ using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and doesn’t need a .NET framework or any other external libraries.”

Download that and i will explain to you how to burn a nice dvd layer, and a dvd cover. Getting these files can be done at several websites, the following list will provide you with just about any cover / layar you need:

Printing a dvd layer

When you’re going to burn a dvd layer you will need to get yourself some dvd layer sheets, these are usually a4 format printable sticker papers, with 2 precut dvd size stickers on them. You can get these at the bigger paper stores / webshops and you should just google for it. When you got the right paper follow these steps:

1. Open UndercoverXP.
2. Click the left or right white area and open the layar you downloaded before.
3. Select “DVD Layers” in the dropdownlist above the image.
4. Print your image, but before doing this you should select high quality and the correct paper type. (if you have those options on your printer)

Printing 2 layers at a time:

1. Follow the step 1-3 above to select the left or right image.
2. Follow the step 1-3 above again, but now select the other image.
3. Select the checkbox between the 2 dropdownlists to check “Print on a single page”.
4. Print your image, but before doing this you should select high quality and the correct paper type. (if you have those options on your printer)

Well thats that and you should have a perfect dvd layer now!

Update: Its possible that you need to change the format a bit so the print will cover the dvd size sticker, i recommend testing by printing a grey page so you dont waste your ink. You can change the format in “options –> format editor…”

Before starting to burn your dvd cover’s i

can recommend you to buy Glossy paper. Simply because you will get the best results than. Epsilon is a good brand for paper, it aint expencif and you can get it at allot of webshops. Burning the cover is easy:

1. Open UndercoverXP.
2. Click the left or right white area and open the cover you downloaded before.
3. Select “DVD Box” in the dropdownlist above the image.
4. If you’r image appears turned (read: horizontal) you should flip it 90 degrees you can do this by clicking “Options” in the menubar and than “Rotate” and than to do the job select “rotate left image clockwise” or “rotate right image clockwise” depending on your images location, It should show vertical now.
5. Print your image, but before doing this you should select high quality and the correct paper type. (if you have those options on your printer)

Transcoding is  changing the codec realtime, during playback. It is a really cool option especially if you want to stream the video files. I have not gotten it to work though. I tried the following applications without success, but you may have the glory of getting it to work. It is defiantly worth considering. Anyway you should try the following aplications:

• TVersity
• PS3 Media Server
• TwonkyMedia Manager
• MediaTomb

Since none of the applications really worked out too well I decided it was just better to convert the videos with codecs which were supported by my devices (mainly my LG5000 which doesn’t support DTS). One pretty universal codec seemed to be AC3. In Ubuntu there seem to be various ways to transcode your videos, you can use scripts, terminal applications like ffmpeg, or applications. I tried the oh so glorious scripts, and ffmpeg. Every time something went wrong or something was missing. It nearly broke me down to tears. My last resort after trying streaming applications, scripts, and terminals was to use applications.

Then finally I was saved by a single user who made this epic post:

You need an application called Avidemux! Once installed all you need to do to convert a mkv HD movie, with a DTS audio track, to a HD movie with a AC3 track are the following steps:

1. [in a terminal] “sudo apt-get install Avidemux”
2. Menu > Video > Avidemux
3. File > Open > YourVideo.mkv
4. On the left side, VideoMode – Copy
5. On the left side, AudioMode – AC3
6. On the left side, Format – MKV
7. File > Save > Select your location where you want the new video to be saved.
8. Wait a fair bit
9. ????
10. Profit

Every episode stands by itself so you are not forced to watch the series in any particular order. The main problem is that you will keep watching the next episode and the series is only 3 seasons long and totals just 18 episodes. There might be plans to do a fourth series in 2010 but i have a feeling that it will suck seeing as it will be forced funny.

This show is much funnier then the wanne-be nerdy show called The Big Bang Theory. I would say that the IT crowd displays IT people as a bit social awkward but still with very normal and mostly manly desires, while everyone else is displayed as being mentally retarded. I uploaded one of my favorite clips from the series with the Boss of the corporation who is trying to seduce Jen.. i cried from laughter because the humor is just so brilliant.

Having meticulously planned and mapped his escape route before hand Michael is faced with unpredictable events which time upon time forces him to make awful decisions. I don’t want to give to much away so let me pose a dilemma for you. You can save someone’s live but doing so will get you in loads of trouble, or even kill you? Or how about this one: You have information that will save your friends live, but it is also the key to kill someone’s else’s life.

I find that these profound themes are well presented through the series and those who are looking for a show with some depth might want to look into this show. Though it is also possible to just enjoy the whole show without giving it such thought since there is plenty of violence and neat killer trick. Such as taking out someone’s eye with a smashed light bulb.

For me prison always had something mystical, even something romantic. I have seen parts of shows like Oz which clearly depict the prison system, ahum, American Prison system for what it is. A filthy place which turns everyone insane. Some of the inmates in the story rape new and especially young inmates. Information is power and there plenty of inmates who kill for even a drop of it.

What really scares me is that I know there are four more season, totaling five. I just hate, perhaps even despise shows that drag on because of their success. I can not imagine this show being very fun to look at after Michael finishes his primary goal, assuming he does of course. I also cant imagine the show dragging on five seasons within those walls.

So far the show has been really good an I am at episode ten of the first season. I would at this point recommend it. With plenty of tricks still hidden in the tattoo it appears to be all good. If he does make it out might chance my verdict.

Just an idea i had. I just watched a pretty unknown movie and i though id share it with you guys. Its called Sleep Dealer. All in all a pretty good movie, for a non Hollywood production. It is a bit slow, but if you can get past that its decent.

The idea is that basically America sorta owns the world and controls all water in the world (i think). Anyway they do own the water in the small farm-town in Mexico where the main character, named Memo, lives. Shit gets fucked up and Memo has to go to the city to get a job to support his family.

In the movie Mexicans work in America by remote connecting to robots. I though that it was a pretty cool angle. It might not even be far off from what the future holds. Especially if you look at the American army deploying remote connected drones already. It is this whole idea that made this movie pretty interesting.

The story arch kinda sucks, i mean there is no real buildup. I think it would have been a much better movie if he actually used the remote controlled robots in America to do some killing. The ending is supposed to be dramatic, but it really isn’t, its kinda buttfuck obvious from the start.

Another cool thing in this movie is that there is a lot of nice animation work. Like really nice stuff. At a certain points there are a bunch of droid working on some building and it looks awsome!

Basically, this movie could have been much more, but then again.. i might be influenced by Hollywood to much… That about it for my review. Check out IMDB for more info

Just when you thought sci-fi was getting gay this movie shows up. It is an awesome story about aliens (1.8million of em) landing in africa and humankind forces them to live in one big ass ghetto. The aliens aka prawns are retarted and always seem to agree with stuff, so they dont mind living in the ghetto. Some crazy Nigerian humans also live in the ghetto and they trade cat-food for all kinds of sweet stuff, like aliens weapons and mecha suits.

So where is the story!?
The aliens are fucking annoying and they fuck shit up, so they are being forced to move to a new ghetto further away. The guy in charge is a real dumbass and the eviction of alians is pretty funny, imo. When he evicts some badass alien he searches the house and finds something. This something fucks him up bigtime resulting in the story..

I really liked the Mecha Battle suit in the movie. Its pure win. It is fast, it is armed with missles, machine guns, and ownage. Basically it rapes. Also the human special forces look badass, they have white guns and armor and generally are racists who hate prawns. The Nigerian “traders” are also kinda badass.. but not super badass..

What really bums me out in the movie is that the aliens don’t ever seem to revolt. How can you have mecha-suits, awesome weapons, a big motherfucking spaceschip and still get owned by us humans? Seriously, you managed spacetravel but cant even enslave a planet.. kinda defeats the point of space travel imo. No revolting aliens is a big fat -1.

Now here is a movie which you know will suck. How hard, only this review will tell. We all know ninjas are fucking cool. They got swords, blowpipes, and they kill shit. No questions asked, ninjas rock. Well anything that rocks deserves a movie right? (I mean G.I. Joe also got a movie..)

Well not if it is going to suck like this. Hollywood should be punished for ruining such a cool name for a movie. The plot is ridiculous. Some white kid gets abandoned by his mom or something and then his dad kills himself and something. I don’t known it’s not deserving of my memory or time in this review. Bottom line, he is in some Japanese dojo. He is a freaking p-magnet and tied with some other fag to become the next soko (leader of a dojo).

Shit goes down they fight and BWAM there is your antagonist. Whole bunch of useless stuff happens most of which has NOTHING to do with the story plot (I think anyway). So there is this chest with some 1337 loot which the soko gets btw, and so the bad guy wants it. Some more fighting which is not acted very badly but there is no bullet-time or stuff. It’s Rambo/A-team fakeness.

Bad guy kills some old dude finds that the chest is empty, goes beserk does some more shit I cant remember. Owyah, there are also some other bad guys which look extremely faggy. Something like a Russian spetznas mixed with Bruno. Anyway the good guy dude gets all pissed off and has the contents of the chest and then he kills the bad guy. I cant remember the end of the movie because I was chatting on MSN because I was bored.

Did I like the movie? No, not really
Would I download it? Meh, perhaps I would consider wasting 750mb of bandwidth for it…
Would you watch it again? 90% I wont ever watch it again

Alright, awesome movie title! I mean why wasn’t there a gaming themed movie earlier!? With such a nice title i was expecting a SUPERAWSOME movie, but the movie was decent.. defiantly not super awesome. This might be due to the fact i saw a TeleSync rip. It was however, a really good TS so i was to lazy to care about the loss of quality.

So the movie is based around the fact that you can mind control people and then do stuff with them. There are two games: Society and Slayers. Society is basically a fun loving place and everyone seems to use their mind control abilities for.. SEX. There is a nice scene at some rave later in the movie. People rent out their bodies so players can use them in society. There are lots of funny costumes which makes society look wacky.

Then there is slayers, basically society 2.0 with guns. As you are in fact controlling REAL people this shooter is kind of fucked up! They use inmates and death row prisoners. If they can survive 30 games they get set free. BWAM there is your story line.. The slayers game looks awesome and there are some sweet scenes from Slayers. The way a player controls a “slayer” looks kinda dumb, but whatever, the action is good.

The end of the movie is kind of nice, there are basically two twists which made this movie a decent movie that with some cool action scenes make this movie good to watch. I don’t really think it is worth going to the movies for.

Believe it or not, I don’t watch to many TV shows these days. I have better things to do like being bored online and playing video games. However the sheer rage in this series is just awesome. Gordon will get in peoples faces and yell at them, often for no good reason at all. When things go wrong, often because of Gordon pressuring the life out of people, you see his face get red and he just start dishing out insults.

Chef Ramsay: It’s like I need a detective in here. Where’s the chicken?
Sabrina: Where’s the chicken? I don’t know. Maybe….

One of my favorite moments is when Gordon gets pissed of at a Cook who has a cooking school. He just yells the best insults at her. So far she has remained calm, though I can imagine her getting out a steak knife. Also lots of the other Cooks have superiority complexes. When a team loses a contest they have to vote someone away. Laughs will be had when you see all these narcissist acting shocked when some team mate tells them they suck.

Because I am a brilliant if have created a even better formula for Hell’s Kitchen II. It will be quite similar except you add some of the “thugs” from MTV’s Gs to Gents. Everyone will lose because they laugh. Imagine some crazy gangster being all drunk and possibly high on crack getting yelled at by Gordon. Pain is guaranteed.

Would I suggest you see Hell’s Kitchen? Yes I would, its just great to see how much abuse people take voluntarily. I cant imagine getting yelled at for a couple of minutes and replying “Yes Chef!” or “Sorry Chef”. I am not sure what they can win, though I am sure it is not just a plain monetary prize. Would u recommend downloading the whole series? No, it is probally just funny for a couple of episodes and then it will get sad. I mean throwing plates against the wall and making remarks about someone’s weight does get repetitive.

If I had one chance to help Gordon out I would take it. Even though I have no cooking experience (not on any sort of professional level anyway) I would just dish out the hurt by throwing shit on the floor, yelling at people, making them do pointless stuff, and generally being mini-Gordon. I would love for Gordon to add the following competition:

• Dance like monkeys on glas or something hot and see how many bananas they can peel.
