How do i get Alien Swarm?

Alien Swarm is free for now, and is provided by Valve through the Steam platform. This means you are going to have to get yourself a Steam account. You can get an account for free at steam’s website. Even easier is to directly download the steam client:

Garry

Downloading
Everything you need (including the Source engine) comes with this torrent. You will also need Winrar if you don’t have it.

You will not need any kind of crack for the game. The download should take anywhere from 30-45 minutes, depending on your internet.

Installing Garry’s Mod 11

The torrent contained 4 files, all .rar files. There should  game, garrysmod, GCF, tools.

This is sort of a long process. You will need to follow every step carefully.

1. Extract ALL of the .rar files. It doesn’t matter where you extract them to, as long as you have access to them.
2. Game is the actual game itself, it contains the Source engine and all the files you need for Garry’s Mod. Inside of the Game folder should be several different things. Ignore everything except for the Garry’s Mod 11 Shortcut.
3. The shortcut is broken, so you will need to fix it. It originally points to the D: drive (lol) and it needs to be pointed to your hl2.exe file. You need to move your whole Game folder to wherever you want its permanent location to be. The best place would probably be in your Program Files or Program Files (x86) in your C: drive, but it’s up to you.
4. Once you have cut and pasted it to where you want it, rename the Game folder to something like Gmod or Garrysmod. Try not to use any symbols when renaming it.
5. Open up your newly renamed Game folder. Now we need to fix that shortcut. Right click on the
   Garry’s Mod 11 Shortcut and then click Properties. A box should come up.
6. You should automatically be on the Shortcut tab. Next to target, it should point to something crazy like in your D: drive or something. Erase that. You need to direct it to your hl2.exe file. It should be in your Game folder. After you have it targeted, add this onto the end of it. Make sure there is a space: -steam -game garrysmod -appid 4001
7. Next you need to change your Start In location. This needs to point to the folder that holds everything, your Game folder. After all this is done, it should look something like this: http://i46.tinypic.com/2958tq8.jpg
8. That’s it! Now you shortcut should be working correctly and Garry’s Mod 11 should launch. You can move this shortcut out of the Game folder and place it elsewhere now.

Modding and Addons
When you downloaded the torrent, you got a folder called garrysmod. This folder contains Addons and other things you can add into the game if you would like. To add these things to your game, open the garrysmod folder and select all the contents of it. Cut (you can copy but it will take a while) and paste all these folders inside of your garrysmod folder. This folder is found in your Game folder, the one that you probably renamed. You will know if it works.

New addons can be found on different websites around the web. Try fpsbanana.com or moddb.com. You cannot use the major modding website because it requires you to prove you own Garry’s Mod 11 before you can download mods. That website is garrysmod.org.

Installing addons is very easy, just drop them into your Garrysmod > Addons folder.

FAQ

When I try to run Garry’s Mod, nothing happens! (OR) I get an error message!

• You might not have Targeted the right thing when you had to change things in the Shortcut. Make sure you check and see it’s Targeting hl2.exe and make sure your Start In is set to your Game folder.

My shortcut works okay, but for some reason I get a “YOU DONT OWN GARRY’S MOD 10″ message!

• You have Steam running. Make sure you close out of Steam before running Garry’s Mod.

When in-game, I get a ton of error messages!

• You probably didn’t install your Addons correctly. There are lots of videos on YouTube on how to install addons.

Okay everything works great… but how do I do stuff?

• When in-game, hold down the Q key to open up the menu. It has everything you need in it.

Worst of all is unbeknownst to the user, Windows can also install patches and collect data covertly without notifying the user as seen in the 2006, 2008-09 incident where Windows was under the scrutiny of the public eye for the installation of a patch (Windows systems were vulnerable for 17 years before it came to light). Implementation
Simply execute the program (right-click -> Run as Administrator), close all the ports, and restart your computer.

For Windows Vista or higher, if there is a pop-up that informs you the value for the Windows Messenger Service in the Windows Registry cannot be found, click OK to proceed. The reason is because it is not installed (see above*).

To undo any changes, run the program again and click Open Ports to re-enable these services.

Verification

Security Tool
Panda Security has released a program called the Panda USB Vaccine and its purpose is to set an autorun.inf file that cannot be overwritten easily through convention means. The safest option is to format your USB before using the program and be certain that any malware or data that may have been contained in your $Recycler or areas on the drive are cleared.

Then install the Panda USB Vaccine to vaccinate your computer. The current version supports File Allocation Table (FAT) 16/32 drives, but not full support for New Technology Files Systems (NTFS). However, as with all the applications above, you can undo any changes made by re-running the program and selecting “remove vaccination”.

Basically “actiontype=block” is a rule that will block an entry on the condition (in the case that) the entry equals that data block.

Adding the filter enforces the rule.

Using the Group Policy Objects (GPO) to enforce security policies is a very powerful tool – in fact, it can even stop any executable file from running such as shortcuts or extensions like vbs, msc, bat, com etc…

Simply execute gpedit.msc via the run command (windows button + R, or start menu)

or find it in your %systemroot%\system32 folder, or for x64, \windows\syswow64 folder

To remove some restrictions to allow you to easily navigate your system you need to remove the extension or set the appropriate permission in each case as shown below.

However, thanks to the versatility and powerful computer languages being able to execute functions in different environments, users like us are more vulnerable to “tricks” such as spoofing, phishing attempts (fake e-mail requesting user information), even VoiP Vishing (Voice over IP) and DNS cache poisoning (classic), malformed iFrames, Man-in-the-middle attacks – the list goes on.

The rising trend in malicious activity comes in the form of “drive-by” downloads. If you or I just visit a website like CNN or ABC, our computer could be compromised. We can protect ourselves by redirecting the malicious sites to your local host (127.0.0.1).

What this means is, your computer doesn’t try to find the address on the Internet, it tries to find it on your computer. These private addresses are inaccessible from the Internet because it’s like trying to find a museum on your residence. Hence, it will not “resolve” itself, and you won’t be caught in harms way.

Security Tool
A number of people have posted “blacklists” on sites such as MVPS, hosts-file, malwaredomainlist and so on. Using an application known as Hostsman will help you optimise your use of the Windows hosts file to prevent access to known malicious sites.

Troubleshooting
If you suddenly experience slow browsing and the DNS Client service is still running, open a command prompt window and type:

You can also add an “exclusion” to access a site. One of the limitations of using the hosts file is that the address specified must be static. As an example, malicious sites must be defined – “baddykkp.info”, “baddykkpx.info” and the list goes on. Since malicious users will just change the name anyway, we need to find a work around.

Limitations and Development
Over time, things have developed to a point where people believe that blacklists just don’t cut it. Just like a firewall that stealths all ports by default, there should be a “whitelist”, a list of trusted sites that we can access instead of “blacklisted sites” that number in the billions. I have avoided this feature because I’m not very paranoid and don’t want to be oppressed by “parental controls”.

Instead, we can use PACs (Proxy Auto-Config). It tells your browser what to avoid by using wildcards. Wildcards means that everything before and/or after this entry is Disallowed. For example, *.pokemon.* tells the browser not to go to any site with pokemon in its domain name, so www.ieatpokemonforbreakfast.biz would not resolve.

When your browser reports that a page could not resolve, open the file “proxy_en.txt”,
Ctrl + F to find a keyword (usually in the URL address), and remove it.
Save, exit your browser, and try again. Alternatively, use the Reload feature.

I only know that the Mozilla browser supports this reload feature, so please inform me of any other browsers that support the PAC reload function.

Future Expectations
Despite our best efforts, there is always the fear that human error will undo all these safeguards. Here, the ingenious laboratory mad scientists are developing the Blade Defender which is a robust system with a 100% success rate of preventing drive-by downloads by testing and stopping 0-day attempts at compromising systems. However, it is still under development so it has not been officially released. I’m looking forward to seeing this protecting us in the future.

It is likely that virtualisation in hardware form will become more prominent for the end-user. In the mean time, you can run programs in a Sandbox and any changes made will not affect your system – unfortunately, misconfiguration and “undiscovered” features may present unforeseen consequences.

Therefore, I recommend that you backup your system, have a Live recovery disk (preferably Linux), a system image backup (plenty of open-source software to be found at sourceforge.net), and if you feel up to it, complete drive encryption, TPM and the works.

There may be articles in the future if I am permitted to post again after this mammoth article, but hopefully it has helped you to understand more of what is happening in your computing environment. Never download screensavers, and if you like playing with toys and testing things out (I know I do!), try using a Virtualualised Environment to work out all your experiments. VMWare (free or commercial), VirtualBox (free and open-source) and others can solve many problems with having only one or two PCs.

Final notes
All Operating Systems have their advantages and limitations, so it would be a mistake to assume any one OS is more secure than another. It is a human creation and will be imperfect if another human were to introduce “bugs” and “tweaks” during development; the notorious patch; the seemingly innocent sister; the lithesome fingers that work the dvorak/qwerty keys; and the infamous beta. If you must use beta software, please try to avoid using it on your work PC. It might bring out unprecented consequences and make your system more vulnerable.

If you would like to setup a system that rollbacks any changes made have a look at Shadow Defender, Returnil (I experienced some BSODs so I avoided this one – beta, later editions possible fixed issues) and others.

I have decided against suggesting Harden-It as a security tool, but feel free to try it. For post-XP systems, you need to run and set Compatibility Mode as Windows XP (SP2). It basically adds Windows Registry Entries to secure your network. I believe it works on servers also. Use SSL1.0, 3.0, TLS 1.1, 1.2, etc… but not SSL v2.0 since there has been talk of vulnerabilities concerning that protocol.

Just a reminder, installing plenty of security software won’t protect you more. It’s like stacking yourself with ironclad armor, then a copper-stove onto your head. You’ll be blinded, tired from the heavy CPU load, a bit queasy from loss of RAM, and potentially fatal… flatulence? Try to limit real-time scanners to one, support open-source since it helps developers make free and transparent software, and don’t go overboard because we’re all liable for our own actions.

First you need to download and unpack and mount the game. It took me around 2 hours to download the entire game. I stood at around 1.8MB/s and the unpacking took almost 5 minutes.

1. Access the Daemon Tools folder. It’s usually in C>Program Files>DAEMON Tools Lite
2. Double click on DTLite4335-0068.exe

4. When it finishes installing, restart computer.
5. Run DTL and there should be a little blue thunderbolt icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. Double click that and the main console should appear.

So my dreams have been shattered since and waiting on my tests results to see if I “have earned the right” to play my ps3 again (even though I payed for the bloody thing). Till then, I had to find another way of play such a marvelous game. I found a decent solution, PLAY IT ON THE PC! Even though my PC isn’t state of the art. This crack is a very easy installer that includes everyting you need… the login bypass, the lazylauncher 2, and starcrack AI 7.0. The installation is really easy and all thats left for you to get is maps and maybe some additional AI.

Why didnt we promote it untill now?

This “new” starcraft crack has in fact been around just as long as the Starcraft II beta launcher we provide. The thing is that the Launcher was way further and gave so much less errors that it wasnt worth it to try the all-in-one user interface crack. Now the thing is, the beta launcher is no longer supported by the developer and because of that its out dated (you cant play with it anymore after patching beyond beta build version 0.10.0.14803) and the all-in-one user interface is not outdated!

What files do i need?

Alright there are in fact three things you need, the beta client, the crack and some maps. Ofcourse we provide this all to you!

What does it support?

With the All-In-One user interface you can select:

• game type;
• game speed;
• game type;
• races;
• up to eight players;

Installation & Cracking

1. Open the folder “Starcraft II Beta enUS 13891 Installer”.
2. Run “Installer.exe”, Starcraft II beta client installation should start.
3. Start the installation, and finish it.
4. Now start the beta client. It should connect to the Blizzard servers and automatically update to the latest release.

5. Extract the Starcraft II – All-In-One User Interface zip (Download the latest version above)
6. Run the installer that pops out
7. install it to its RECOMENDED LOCATION (default path should be: C:Program Files (maybe x86)Starcraft II BetaSC2ALLin1)
   • Warning: IF the installation is not installing to the right subfoder and deletes your game directory its because you made the mistake of installing it there and now it remembers it! so go and extract the setup manually and place the folder there by your self!
8. Point the installer to the location where you keep your maps
9. complete the instalation and run the shortcut that it made on your desktop
   • Warning: Windows Vista and Windows 7 users have to run it as administrator (right click the shortcut > properties > compatibility)
10. Your good to go and get your game on! let us know if you run into problems, but make sure to check at the Known Errors first.

Watching replays

For better compatibility in replays use the latest cache files. The way you use these is different for Windows XP and Windows 7 or Vista.
First download the latest patch files:

• Cache files for patch 11 download
• Cache files for patch 12 download
• Cache files for patch 13 download
• Cache files for patch 15 download

Now do the following:

1. Extract the cache files;
2. Now for Windows 7 or Vista: Place the cache files into the directory: C:UsersYour_UsernameAppDataLocalBlizzard EntertainmentBattle.netCache;
3. For Windows XP place them into C:Documents and SettingsUSERNAMELocal SettingsApplication DataBlizzard EntertainmentBattle.netCache.

Q: My replays wont work, why?
A: Make sure you have the latest cache(these must be cache files of the latest patch, so do not expect the if you go and download cache files that say are for patch 13 and there are no other newer ones, that your replays must work, you have to wait until cache files for the latest game patch are released and also from what I tested cache files always worked to play replays so if you get your cache files of the latest patch from someone else, there is a chance they will not work) files and that you are playing a replay of a game made in the latest game patch and you have the latest game patch installed.

Q: I got a problem with the AI, what should I do?
A: The AI and launcher are 2 different things that are simply working togheter.For AI problems post a comment

Q: The launcher wont start ,what should I do?
A: Make sure you have .NET 3.5 SP1 , and the verdana font

Q: Launcher will not launch the game, what should I do?
A: Make sure the launcher or game is not blocked by the antivirus or firewall, and if you are a Vista or Win7 user run the launcher as administrator or turn off UAC

Q: I want to make my own dificulty level, how can I do that?
A: You can manualy do it(which might screw your game if you have no idea what you are doing) or just wait until the launcher will have the AI editor

Q: I’ve got a problem but the FAQ didn’t help, what should I do?
A: Try to do a clean instal following Charlemagne installation guide

Q: I have downloaded the file but it has no extension, what should I do?
A: Just add the extension “.exe” without the quotes in the file name. (e.g. mysetupfile.exe)

Q: Starcraft II patched to a new version what should I do?
A: Check for any new updates of the launcher, if there are any download them, delete the one you previously had, and install this new one, also check for cache updates and if there are any delete your current cache and place the new.

Q: When I run the launcher the User Interface seems “off place” (borders, buttons, etc.) what is wrong?
A: You have set your Windows Font DPI settings over or under 100%. The launcher works only with fonts set at 100% DPI!

Q: Can I play the game with this launcher without an internet conection?
A: Yes, you can.

Q: Can I play custom maps?
A: Yes you can as long as they don’t have triggers (besides the default) and are made like the blizzard maps.So if you want to make your own map to launch it with this launcher, first load in the editor an official map and study it.For any other maps you want to try out load it in the map editor and press the “Test Document” button.

Q: I get an error msg “file not found” every time i try to launch a game why?
A: Your Antivirus / Firewall / UAC / or Windows Rights are preventing the tool for running correctly and create the files needed! Even worst those file may be deleted automatically or blocked by your AV software! Turn them all OFF and reinstall the launcher and run it as Administrator!

Q: When I press the Launch button but nothing happens! No error, nothing, the game just doesn’t start up! Why?

First of all you are going to have to get yourself a copy of Nero 9. We choose to downloading the torrent which we lick to below because it packs evertything you need, has been tested, and is fully functional.

Start downloading that it shouldnt take to long, and get on to the installation!

Installation

1. First of all please check if your pc has the minimal system requirements
2. It does? great! now grab a cup of coffee because this install will take you longer than normal
3. Disable your internet connection
• Note:Go to “start > control panel > network and internet > network connections” (disconnect cable and / or wireless connection)
4. Close all applications running besides this guide (highly recommended)
5. Start installing Nero 9.4.26.0
• Note: It should have a serial filled in for you, if it doesnt run the keygen and generate a serial
6. When Nero has finished installing, close it but DONT START IT
7. Now disable your anti-virus program, turn it OFF so it doesnt run anymore
8. Start the Nero keygen
• Recommended: Right click > run as administrator

• Delete: NeroPatentActivation.exe (obvious)

• Delete: NOSUsageStatistics.dll (Component for Usage Statistics)
16. Go to: (C:) Program Files(x86) > Nero > Nero ControlCenter4 > OnlineServices
• Delete: NOSMyNeroRegistration.dll (component for Registration Services)
• DO NOT DELETE: AdvrCtr4.dll (If deleted your Nero 9 installation becomes virtually useless)
17. Now thats done each and every Nero 9 application you just installed has to be blocked in your firewall
• Note: If nero connects to the internet it locks up
18. Go to your firewall and block the internet access for the following programs:

22. Well thats that for the blocking, however if you have add-on(s) such as MoveIt, or BackItUp and Burn, you also need to block theire .exe with your firewall aswell
• Example: for Nero BackItIp block: (C:)Program Files(x86)>Nero>Nero BackItUp & Burn>Nero BackItUp.exe
• Note: Make sure you are only running ONE firewall, if not sure, check: Control Panel>System and Security>Windows Firewall
• Note: there is a few .exe to block so please pay attention.
23. Reboot
24. When rebooting is done, double check all your steps, cause really, do you want to do this all over again do you?
    • Note: Check “Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features” It should say you have installed Nero 9, not Nero 9 trial, but in case it does it aint a problem either.<./li>
25. Re-enable or start up your Antivirus program.
26. Reconnect your internet. (re-enable your network adapters)
27. Start Nero 9 and it should run fine! if it doesnt, look below before posting.

Nero still doesnt work?

Well to be honest, you probably messed or missed a step. In case you skipped any step on purpose… well thats your problem than because I did warn you. Now lets fix the problem, which isnt hard… its just another bit of work.

1. Download Nero CleanTool: Direct download link for Nero CleanTool
• Recommended: Safe to desktop so you can remove it when your done
2. Unzip the ZIP-file with WinZip or WinRAR and save the contents
3. double-click on the EXE-file that popped out to start the CleanTool.
• Note: Nero General CleanTool should open and show the installed Nero products
4. Now check the boxes next to the Nero products you want to remove.
• Recommended: Remove ALL the Nero products you just installed…
5. Click the “Clean” button, a status window should open and the tool should run for several minutes
6. Wait untill the progress bar is done and click exit in the Nero General CleanTool window (that means when the erasing procedure is completed)
7. Reboot your computer. The Nero General CleanTool has removed all selected Nero entries from your computer.
8. And now im sorry to say, but you are going to have the entire install over again… make sure to check your steps!

Known errors

Error: “can’t load advrcntr4.dll”
Solution: Nero needs that file (AdvrCtr4.dll Module) to operate
If you deleted it (permanently), got some bad news for u, re-install Nero again.
DON’T DELETE AdvrCntr4.dll deleting AdvrCntr4.dll renders Nero virtually useless.
If you can find it in the Recycle, restore it. I will upload the file asap so you dont have to reinstall

The Story

You play the game as the main character who is called ‘Scorpion’, his real name being Rico Rodriguez. Your initial goal is to find a rogue agent on the island that has apparently been assisting the island’s evil dictator Pandak Panay.

You soon find out however that the rogue agent (Tom Sheldon) is actually on your side and something more sinister is going on.

This is as far as I have got with the story as of yet, and to be honest it is not a very interesting story. If you’re looking for a game with a deep story you certainly won’t find it in Just Cause 2.

The Gameplay

The game takes place on the fictional island on Panau which is extremely large, even with the fastest plane it takes a good 5-10 minutes to go from one side to the other.

The island also has a wide variety of lush environments, such as urban cities, deserts, jungles, forests, towns, lakes, rivers, mountains, snow and ice.

Just Cause 2 has some of the best graphics I have ever seen in a game yet at the same time maintains surprisingly low system requirements.

The character has a very handy grappling hook which can be used to hook onto pretty much everything, you also have a reusable parachute which can be combined with the hook and used as a means of transportation, this opens a wide variety of combat strategies to you, for example you can parachute into a enemy base or use your hook to climb over the walls.

There is a decent variety of weapons in the game, ranging from a pistol to a rocket launcher, you also have grenades and remote bombs which brings me to a small issue, grenades are woefully underpowered you have to throw the grenade quite close to your target in order to kill them.

You progress through the game by completing faction missions and the storyline missions which gain you ‘Chaos’.

Chaos points are awarded whenever you destroy something, new missions, weapons and vehicles are unlocked as you accumulate chaos.

There are also a number of collectable items scattered around Panau, weapon and vehicle parts which are used to upgrade weapons and vehicles. Armor parts that increase your health for every five you collect and money stashes.

There are also collectable objects for each faction with give you a little chaos boost.

Overall

Ignoring the poor storyline Just Cause 2 is an excellent game, perfect for them times when you have nothing else to play.

The environments are extremely beautiful and quite detailed so you can pretty much ignore all the missions and have fun flying around and exploring the island.

The missions once you get down to doing them a pretty decent, certainly nothing amazing but worth doing. Another thing I should point out that annoys some people is the terrible voice acting in the game.

I would certainly recommend you get Just Cause 2, there is a great demo on steam which gives a pretty good preview of the game.

Overall I would rate this game 8 out of 10.

Known Errors

Alright, we did alreaddy find some errors for you… with a solution.

Error: The game just doesnt work / run!
Solution: You’re blocking Command & Conquer 4 with your firewall, make sure you allow a connection to 127.0.0.1 (loopback to your pc)

Error: When i run the “cnc4offlinepatch” a black window suddenly pop-ups and dissapears.
Solution: Press and hold “D” and click the exe again. This should do the trick.
Better Solution: Use the crack we provide, cnc4offlinepatch is a old crack.

Error: Playback problems with sound effects and voices.
Solution: This is not a problem with the crack, its a problem with the game. you will have to wait for EA to patch this.

Error: Black screen directly after the EA intro clip.
Solution:This is not a problem with the crack, its a problem with the game. you will have to wait for EA to patch this.

Start your download and wait for it to finish. You need the following package aswell, this contains: Crack and missing files

Installation & Cracking

1. Make sure your pc has the minimal system requirements.
2. Extract the image by opening the first file i.e rzr-bio2.001 with winrar and extract to anywhere
3. Mount the iso file using daemon tools. (or burn it on a dvd)
4. Run the installation, and finish it
5. Open the Crack & missing file rar you got from us
6. Open the “missing file” folder, copy “Bioshock2Launcher.exe” and paste it into your installation folder
7. Open “Razor1911″ -> “Crack” directory, copy the “MP” and “SP” folders, and paste them into your installation folder
8. Start the game –> [InstallationDir]\SP\Builds\Binaries\Bioshock2Launcher.exe
9. When the game has loaded there are two possibilities:
   1. If you already have a windows live account and have signed into it before, the game will automatically sign you in into offline mode
   2. If you dont have an account, hit create an account, scroll down until you see the “create a local profile” link and create it
10. You should now be logged into the offline acc. and be able to play and save the game!

Known Errors

Error: “Seculauncher: failed to start application. [2000] ->0x000036B1″
Solution: You’r missing some files, download this: Note: There is a file embedded within this post, please visit this post to download the file., and “Bioshock2Launcher.exe” from the “Missing files” folder to your installation directory.
