I was also facing the same problem. but i have changed my operating system to windows 7 now works fine. I have found useful information online about how to play dragonage and cheats for dragonage online.

I finally managed to solve it, at least for me. For me the problem was that Dragon age Origins was installed in C:/Program Files(x86) and not C:/Program Files. So i simply reinstalled Dragon age Origins and choose to install it in C:/Program Files, and after this It was not problem for Awakening to find Dragon Age Origins. Hope this helps someone !

Ah yes, I subsequently found the daoloader.exe to bypass the requirement for a cd. Good trick. Thank you anyway.

I’m in the same boat, have installed a cracked awakenings but cannot figure out how to keep it and keep my DLCs, because when i update to 1.04 I get error messages.

I think I had the same issue – i copied the cracked daorigins.exe from the cracked cd and copied it to my c:\programs\dragon age\bin_ship

Game worked fine for me then – I saved a copy of the original daorigins.exe just in case

Very noob here – I bought retail Dragon Age Origins, finished it, and then downloaded cracked Awakenings. Finished that, and now downloaded Witchhunt expansion. This requires 1.04 – Ive installed that, but after installing, it gives me an error message when I use the cracked Awakenings CD. Any help?

Hello there!.. I’m having a problem where after i got it fully installed its saying that I don’t have the disk in even though I have the .iso mounted.. if anyone could help that would be great!

if you having troble with expansions for games and the installer can’t locate the original game that you have installed just drag the installer.exe to were you installed it and then dubble click it then it will say like diffrent language then game or something this will locate the installer were it is located

then delete it then go were you downloaded the game dubble click the install.exe and it will go install

I had skidrows DA origins installed (I didnt patch it so I dunno if it was patched automatically or there wasnt any patch), so I downloaded Awakening, installed, patched to 1.03, inserted crack, and when I want to play it says “Cannot find DA disc, please insert the disc and try again” if the DA origins disc is mounted, or “Failed to authenticate the disc, please insert the correct disc and try again” if the DA awakening disc is mounted. It also gives me a “fmod_event.dll” error when I try to launch the game without launcher but via crack. I have downloaded that .dll file and put it into system32 but it didnt help.
Anyone knows what to do? this is the second time i’ve played all the way threw origins as fun as it is i would hate to have to do it again…

Right click and press “extract here”

the iso pops out and you should mount it with something like daemon tools

Yes, me and you have the same problem but it seems no one has a fix.
