Installation
Alright pretty basic installation here again, but as usual we tried to expend it a bit and explain the steps better than in most of the install guides that are packed with your torrent.
- Unrar, just do extract here, and a iso file pops out.
- Burn or mount the image (.iso) with daemon tools.
- Start the installer
- Insert a serial, there are several easily to be found online… for example on www.serials.be
- Now right click and explore your dvd (virtual or real dvd) and navigate to the SKIDROW directory (on other versions this can be named RAZOR1911 or just CRACK).
- Copy all files in the SKIDROW folder
- Navigate to your installation folder (where you installed Dragon Age: Origins.
- Open the folder bin_ship and paste the files, overwrite all when asked.

URGENT—-
I downloaded the crack+everything else at this torrent on pirate bay – http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5150743/Dragon_Age_Origins-SKIDROW – I haven’t checked if it is the same that is on your post, but i have installed it just fine and everything seemed to work except some minor bugs. These are the bugs that led me to download the latest 1.3 patch… bad idea. The patch was installed, but now that it is, my character won’t do the Mouse, spirit, golem or burning man forms on the level where you are stuck in the Fade.
These forms are VITAL to the progress, and i fear i might be stuck there forever… I have tried to rescan the system several times on the configuration/options tab on the launcher… still nothing,. I don’t see what i can do now…
When I installed the 1.3 patch, the “insert disk” message appeared, but i just copied the crack again and it worked.
The game is officially broken. The character doesnt attack, nor every other person reacts. The spells are also broken, and even trying to do a new character will only make it dissapear even before playing. Oh well, I’ll try to reinstall it.
i recommend looking for a crack for version 1.3, wheb you update/patch you need a new patch most of the time.

I did everything posted, however I am unable to apply any of the patches due to having this error; “”The program can’t start because fmod-event.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem”
Did you try reinstalling?
and dont forget you need to copy the files from the ‘SKIDROW’ folder to the “bin_ship” folder…
here ya go:
download link for fmod_event.dll
download and place that into the right directory.

The thing is I tried to install it on my friends computer that was running windows 7 without a problem.
I run vista 64bit home premium SP2
Intel core duo CPU 8400 @ 3.00 GHZ,
RAM 4.00G
ati radeon 4850 top
Anyways, the problem is when I im at the start up I can definitively Press any other bottons
and they work except for “PLay”. So i tried to run Directly from the game daorigins.exe ( wich has been replaced by the copy with skidcrow.exe) and it says :
“The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windoes you’re running. Check
your computer’s system information to see whether your need an x86 (32bit) or x64( 64-bit)
version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.”
and when i go in my system info for System Type it says : x64 based type.
On forums people say to right click on daorigins.exe in properties and run with compatibility mode windows Xp sp2 but it doesn’t change anything for me..
We are at least a dozen with the same problem as me and no one was able to awnser us. So I came here to see if someone could help us.
Thanks

@Eric: Hi, I’ll try to troubleshoot this problem remotely, but I’d suggest trying to install a trial version of DA origins to better isolate the issue.
If this is a software issue
You might have simply downloaded an incorrect version of DA origins and only the pre-loader was able to run. Try downloading the DA origins 64-bit installer.
Also, running the game in Windows XP Compatibility Mode requires Microsoft’s “Virtual PC” update.
Additional Notes
Make sure you have an up-to-date DirectX version.
If this is a hardware issue:
Since you have an ATi graphics card you will need to download the appropriate drivers. In this case, the dynamic link library file: physxcudart_20.dll and place it in the “bin_ship” directory.
However, this issue affects only a small number of ATi cards (unfortunately). There is still much debate over this down at the bioware forums, but I cannot come up with any other solutions at the moment. If you want to pursue this method please inform us of your friend’s PC specs.
My friend Pc just runned it perfectly and he has a 64 bit system too.
ragon.Age.Origins.SKIDROW torrent
I’ll try later to follow your suggestions. But to assure you I have downloaded the
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5145068/Dragon_Age_Origins-SKIDROW%28No_Rars%29
I think i have the right installer.
I’ll give you updates soon.

According to the link below, DA Origins _is_ compatible with Win7 64-bit systems, but depending on your hardware you may need to update drivers and install some software packages such as DirectX in order to run the game smoothly.
Dragon Age Origins: Windows Compatibility results
I’d suggest registering on the Bioware forums and to post a list of your system specs so that the people who are actively working on the game can inform you whether or not your system will encounter problems after installation. If a problem does occur, you can check your logs for any error messages (usually because of the Windows Installer and setup files being dumped erroneously) and attempt to resolve it with the tech support team.
For example, intermittent occurances are common during installation that may result in corrupt files and could stop you from re-installing the game. In this case, I would use the clean up utility to remove the configuration files generated by the Windows Installer with the following utility.
Windows Installer Cleanup Utility v7.2>
Hopefully you will not come across any problems after installation, but I believe there are some issues with x64 drivers which probably stems from manufacturers being reluctant to support x64 systems. However, in two to seven years that will likely change.
BTW I have successfully installed and played DA Origins on both x86 and x64 systems so I know it works.

Hrmm Hi it’s me again.
In order of your suggestions:
-Not sure where to download a “Trial version”
-I post again where I downloaded the torrent
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5150743/Dragon_Age_Origins-SKIDROW
This installer is a 64bit installer correct me if i’m wrong.
-If I can choose in wich compatibility mode shouldn’t I already have the “Virtual Pc” ?
-I placed the “physxcudart_20.dll” file that I already had in my borderlands directory.
I copied and pasted it in the Bin_ship….nothing different.
-I do have the Directx 9
Did you find any awnsers somewhere ? As I see it, It must be a configuration in my PC or something like it. I have a program filesx86 and a program files directory. My friend says it doesn’t make any difference about if I install 64bit programs in any folder in my PC because I am running a windows vista 64bit system anyways. I intalled first in program filesx86 and now in the program files folder but it’s still not better.
Rhhh….

Hiya, Eric!
So the issue is that the game cannot detect the game disc. Hmm… I think it would be best to install the game to a different directory (other than in program files) and then copy over the cracked files to the bin_ship folder. Make sure you extract all the files to a folder before installing (sometimes the TEMP folder can cause problems), but you probably have in order to mount the .iso file to play the game.
Perhaps you can clean your registry before reinstalling the game? Just in case there are any invalid entries that might cause problems (CCleaner will remove those entries).
It is possible that a misconfiguration of your image mounting device is causing the problem (since it deals with device drivers). If there are ten other people who have the ‘failed to authenticate disc’ error, it could be a simple matter of installing a different image mounting application such as Alcohol120% or WinMount and loading the .iso file. Otherwise, try burning the .iso to a DVD.
Additional Notes
The Virtual PC 2007 is not included with any standard Windows OS installation, but based on what you have said I believe it is better to address the loading issue first.
Virtual PC is different to Windows Compatibility Mode in that it is running in a virtualised environment, and because of some legal issues it does not come with this software package.
tHANKS for you fast response.
I’m gonna give you an awnser about the “failed to authenticate disc”,
The error message isn’t about that. It’s only about when I try to manually
start the game with the daorigins.exe instead of doing it in the menu where you can press “play” it says:
“The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windoes you’re running. Check
your computer’s system information to see whether your need an x86 (32bit) or x64( 64-bit)
version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.”
But i’ll follow your suggestions because it might help me anyways.
Maybe I get this message only because somewhere else in my computer there’s an other problem.
Thanks again.

A friend and I have had the exact same problem with this; The Bin_Ship folder is nonexistant, I went through every folder I had, and used the windows search. Tried re-installing it, still nothing. Any help would be great.
Hi Miike,
What was the source of your DA Origins installation? Was it the torrents mentioned in this installation guide, and if so, did you mount and open the .iso with Daemon Tools?

Getting an error. I extracted from the RAR, but no ISO came up. Instead I get a data folder, DirectX folder, software folder, and a Support folder. Aswell as autorun and set up. So I tried to mount the ISO folder itself to some sucess. But once I downloaded the fmod_event.dll (which the ship_bin folder already had) And placed it in the ship_bin folder and tried to run the game I get an error saying the Entry Point isn’t found. Specificaly the error is
“The Procedure entry point
?setCallback@Channel@FMOD@@QAG?AW4FMOD_RESULT@@W4FMOD_CHANNEL_CALLBACKTYPE@@P6G?AW43@PAUFMOD_CHANNEL@@0HII@ZH@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library fmodex.dll.” As you can understand I have no no F’n clue as to what this means.
Pretty ready to just give up on the game.
I’m having this problem as well. My story is pretty much the same as yours. It happened after I downloaded the fmod_event.dll. However, I also have Awakening installed. The game worked fine prior to installing it (and patching it). The second it was done, all this started happening.

I downloaded and installed with no problem. The game seems to be working fine, with the exception of the fact that I cannot see my mouse pointer. I am using a laptop, but that shouldn’t make a difference, right? The touch pad should be the same as a mouse, unless I am mistaken. Do I need a mouse, or is there an easy fix for this error?
Forget it, I figured it out. You have to disable the mouse trails. Thanks for the game! Awesome.
