Alright so you’r readdy to mod your Fallout 3? well thats easy! first of all, you should go and look for a nice mod, you can either google or simply look at this website

They have lots of mod’s there, here is a short selection:

Requirements for mod installation:
Some mods need certain software to run well, you should first download: - fose(fallout script extender)

installation is easy:

1. extract with winrar
2. copy to your fallout 3 directory(by default C:\programfiles\bethesdastudios\fallout3)

Keeping an eye on your mods:
Alright, once you see the overwhelming ammount of mods, you might think: how the hell am i going to manage that… well theres a usefull tool for this! Get it here:

• FOMM(Fallout Mod Manager)

Installing Most Mods:
For must mods you need to have this done:
go to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\Fallout3 and open falloutprefs.ini in notepad, press cntrl+f and search for:

bInvalidateOlderFiles = 0

make it

bInvalidateOlderFiles = 1

1. Download the mod, extract it using winzip or 7zip
2. copy the file with the .esp in you fallout\data folder, also place the meshes folder and the textures folder in there!.
3. FOMM check your mod, make sure all youre expansions and fallout.esm are checked first
4. FALLOUT LAUNCHER, when using the launcher press data files and then check the mod you want to launch.

GO and play and enjoy your mod! if a mod needs fose use FOMM while fose is installed and press launch fose.
