When I run the launcher and set al the option of AI and other things right and click LAUNCH, I get a message that my account is not legit to play offline??!!
What do I wrong, I really want to play this!:P

At the moment it is impossible to choose a race, when you start a game and you dont want to play with the race that you are, you should simply start a new game and keep doing that untill you got the race you want to play…

You van view replays, is Anton specific error message showing up? Where you able to watch reviews before? Tried a different replay file?

Ah, LazyLaunch2 seems to wrongly detect replay version sometimes… i would recommend trying a different replay file, manually selecting the version or try a different replay file

you can try googling for: “starcraft II beta torrent” aswell, that should give you enough results

Are you sure you have forwarded your ports on your PC? Otherwise you might not be able to find all the seeds

and the fact that you cant change the folder name is weard… you are trying the change the folder name when its in your installation directory right? not in the rar file (you cant change a name in a rar file withour rearchiving).

I suggest redownloading LazyLaunch2 and make sure to add it to the exception list of your antivirus / spyware software… it might have been detected as trojan, causing your antivirus to break the file.

also, have you downloaded the map pack and placed the files within in the right folder?

You have to add it, into your installation directory!

if you download the AI pack, you get the AI folder with it. just copy that to your installation directory

1. Download the AI pack
2. Extract all files somewhere
3. add them to the installation directory in a map called AI (you probably have to make that folder)

To be honest, i have no idea… the thing is that version 0.21 shows map information aswell, it is verry well possible that you have maps that dont have any information stored in them… which would mean it DOES work in v0.19, and v0.20… i would recommend trying to download new maps

possible solution: the starcrack maps are good, download those, clear all the maps in your maps folder and place them in. see if you still have the error.

solution 2: Use v0.20 and wait for v0.22, skip v0.21…

thanks demon for the reply. but my friend just found the solution which is work. When select the map, the error msg pop out. Just click continue and then check on ur beta launcher left hand corner below, untick the box “Use internet”. U can choose ur race and color now. hope this reply does help those ppl who have the same problem like me.

Yes it will be fixed, as the problem started in version 0.20 i believe, and was not reported before 0.21 was released. so just use o.19 for now, and 0.22 when thats released!

Well, I still think the game is still a looooong ways off. More so than you guys probably think, actually. There’s going to be a whole bunch of wack to do for Blizzard BEFORE they even announce a final date. There’s going to be launch parties, celebrations, final testing, beta evaluations, tweaks to the single player campaign due to unit changes in multiplayer, etc…
I say Christmas at the earliest. The summer… Seems sketchy.

They made private servers for WoW, and that’s an MMO. Of course, there’ll be way more people on the SC2 servers….

Also, if private servers are created, there would be no reason for a private beta. Either that, or Blizzard sues the creators to hell.

Yes. I have tried reinstalling both the beta launcher and net framework. I even tried running the beta off lazylaunch. Nothing seems to work, I just get the same error.

Yeah, I mean the previous one. “Starcraft II has stopped working.” I have 2.2 Ghz AMD turion processor, 128 MB GeForce 8400M G video card and 2 GB RAM.

Hmmmm dats a VB or ASP error and should not be formed just for you because that usually means theres bad coding in the software…

Thanks for the fast replay on my question. I know that reverse engineering takes time and is a hard work but I was only referring to a basic feature to the existing program. Adding a auto system for pvp games. Players only select it and select there race, the system makes the connection and picks a random map from a poll of maps. I know this is hard to because you need to find pachets and protocols and takes time but I think it can be done. I will lake to help but I only started with programming : (. About the time I don’t really see why there is a need for this to be out after the beta (b-net 2 is still in beta but I don’t think they will change a loot of thinks to the auto-mache system). Actually, I’m playing a pretty strange version, I loaded SC2 without being on this page and I never installed it, I just unzipped the folder, double click the thing and it worked quite well. The strange thing is that when I try to run the 3 above AI, it’s gonna load the map but I won’t even have a base or anything to play lol
So i’m running those strange AI written in chinese in the file I use to run SC2 going from very hard to very easy, but that very easy seems lolhard to me.
Maybe I should just spend a day loading SC2 again from this page and follow the steps? Sorry for bothering ^_^

Finally got it working properly! Though I just wanted to ask if cheating AI is supposed to be cheating easy or cheats for the computer? x) I might sound strange… Just too lazy to see if standard is the easier one.

The AI cheats a bit, which makes it a bit harder!

You need to follow all these steps except for downloading and installing the beta client.

Happened to me at first, it probably is because you didn’t set a game difficulty (AI), check that you have selected the appropriate folder, and a map, of course

It doesn’t help. I reinstalles SC and the first time everything works fine. But the second time it screws everything up. It requests for setting a folder for AI and maps. So I set them. However, the upeer dropmenu is inactive(where I can choose the base or something like that). And when I press “Play”, exception occures “Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A004C (CTL_E_PATHNOTFOUND)”

I have SC in C:\Games\StarCraft II Beta

so as maps’ folder I have to set:
C:\Games\StarCraft II Beta\Maps
and AI folder
C:\Games\StarCraft II Beta\AI

Heres a tip – Make a game w/ 3 computers on a map that supports 3-4 players, do not include yourself in the game and set them to different teams and 1 zerg, 1 terran, 1 protoss, when you start up you should be an observer, watch how they start off their bases and find out some good strategies, I did terrible w/ protoss before doing this, watching the computers helps alot.

Already did. That shit ain’t easy. No matter how big of an army I got, it always holds of the first few waves of attacks, BUT THEN… all of a sudden he has this huge fucking army and it just wipes mine out. It’s dumb.

Nevermind, it seems to only happen when the computer is set to Easy, Hard, or Insane, the other difficulties give them 5 per return like me, but ‘easy’ is almost impossible because of that lol, got attacked by like 30 marines before I could get 4 zealots

I recommend trying a different reply… the newest reply’s (made while playing the latest beta version) are not supported jet.

Oh besides that, you do need the map that is being played in the replay on your pc. so if you dont have that map, it wont load.

I have tried multiple reps, none of them work. I have tried reps of me playing the ai that are autosaved to my documents, I have tried reps I downloaded from TL… both pre and post patch, none of them work.

Oh yea, and the Vortex does sucks every units into it. During the duration of the Vortex, all units which are sucked disappeared. However, after the Vortex is over, the units which are supposed to be dead, reappears…

I think they scrapped some features..

they got rid of some of those features, like the big laser and the time warp, because they felt the mothership was too overpowered.

that’s so sad T_T i was itching to try out the humongous laser. Reminds me of Armageddon the movie =P However, the Vortex still baffles me.. isn’t it suppose to make all units which are sucked into it disappear? how come it all reappears after the vortex is gone?

I just read that Blizzard decided to nerf the Vortex. Now it’s just a disabler. Units that gets sucks into it will just be disabled for the duration of the Vortex. They will reappear after the Vortex is over ==”. What a bummer…

oh yea, and I have this script load failure thing where it seems to only occur when I play the Metalopolis (6 players) map. If I with 5 other AI, one of the AI will become retarded and only knows how to collect minerals and does not build anything.

I’ve had that. I think it’s when you don’t have the AI folder properly set, on the Beta Launcher, on the low-right corner, click on the Change Folder for the AI.

Also there are certain difficulties where the AI gets 10 minerals per return instead of 5, which makes it near about impossible.

Those difficulties are Easy, Hard, and Insane

it’s because the AI are getting 10 minerals per return. U can change this in the AIdifficulty.galaxy file. Just open the file with notepad and change the resource=0.

P.S.: Make a backup copy of the file before modifying it

After changing this, i started a game as an observer. The AI is now getting normal minerals of 5 per return. However, they’re still fast. It is because the AI builds massive numbers of drones/svc/probes to gather resources. It’s crazy! I’ve seen the AI using all their workers to destroy a siege tank XD LOL!

LazyLauncher 2 should be in the root folder of your starcraft 2 beta client installation, just like the launcher.

for the play thing: i recommend downloading the latest version (0.27) and trying with that. if that still doesnt work, please tell me your steps so i can help.

dont even know where to place it…i keep gettin owned by the very easy AI on the normal pack since it seems like they get a lot more minerals than me :S i get like 5 marines and they attack me with like 20 zerglings…

i got a folder inside the ai folder called easy were i place the files i downloaded from the easythingy

Thats good, now follow the steps i posted above and the AI gets the same minerals as you.

Try the following:

1. Run the latest lazylauncher version (V0.27)
2. When you get the error press continue
3. In the checkboxes list on the left uncheck “use internet”
4. Select map
5. Select AI
6. play

that has solved this error in the past.

No problem make sure to visit back often as we try to make as many guides as possible for as many new games as possible! if you run into a game that you cant get to work, post it in the todo list, or the forum and we will try to add it!

StarCraft II Beta enUS 13891 Installer . this is the name of the torrent file i dled. i followed exactly every step . the torrent was from pirate bay

Well yes i could be… but its not really that likely… does it have the latest drivers on it? (i know that may sound stupid but you dont always get the latest drivers preinstalled)

you have a folder /AI/ in the root installation directory… in that folder you should have something like

/AI-hard/
/AI-easy/
/AI-easy2/

or whatever, you can pick the names you want because it doesnt matter, all the ai’s simply have to be in their own folder in the /AI/ folder.

yeah, just run the regular starcraft 2 beta (without the hack), and it should automatically update the patches and take you to the sc2 main menu screen. exit out of that and then open the beta launcher.

it means u’re trying to play a 8 player map when the beta launcher only supports 6 players. It occured to me too.

can you try launcher v0.21 because that seems to work for everybody… does miss some funtionalit tough otherwise i really dont know what causes this… do you have .net framework 3.5?

Hmmm you could try playing with the options on the left of the launcher and see if that helps… it does sound like you dont have the minimal system requirements though…

did you download the latest drivers available for your hardware?

yea I forgot to mention I tried the options on the left side of the launcher (disable textures etc) but same issue.
And you’re prob right about the hardware, I’m just testing how SC2 runs on my laptop; I have integrated graphics so that’s prob the issue, even tho it lists 128Meg allocated to vram.

You need more than 128mb of video card memory… i think your pc is to “bad” for this game

Actually It’s saying that max allocation to video is 256MB, but yea you’re right, my comp isn’t up to it.

Yeah well, each AI is different so you can also try a different AI… if he has about the same as you thats good if you ask me… also a PC usually ALWAYS has more resources, because they farm like hell

if that doesnt work, remove the maps you downloaded… might have a bad map between them

keygen wont work with their new battle.net account managing, its all secured, n like i could imagine they propably have set up their very own warden secure for sc2 now too. there r maybe only 2 ways to get on their servers, 1. steal the complete account informations from someone or otherwise 2. just hope blizzard lately suprises u with ur very own beta key – gl & hf

i got the same error too.. it only happens when i play a 6 player map such as metalopolis.

Make sure that you dont select lets say 4 AI when playing a 4 player map, you have to “join” the game yourself too!

Have a similar problem, downloaded and installed everything perfectly. Added AI and maps etc, go to Beta Launcher and choose the AI and Map i want, go to click Play. When the screen goes black, then purple…and then sometimes it gets into the game but the graphics are completely fucked. Everything is like hollow…Anyone know why? Is it just because the graphics card or is there something i missed?

@Seemz: I had the same problem as well. Go into your AI folder and copy the ‘Base.SC2Data’ File (709kb) into the Starcrack 7.0 standard folder (or whatever AI you have) And replace the current file is there is one. That should fix it ^^

i had the same problem as the last few; Grilk spitfire and krahvdraaakula er whatever. take the ‘Base.SC2Data’ file that’s not in your AI folder and replace it with with the one in the AI folder. it worked for me. and also i have a “Script logic error: Invalid Main state”. for zerg so far i haven’t tried with any other race. but my comps do nothing but mine. kinda ridiculous. Help would be appreciated.

Worked like a charm now. I just installed the betaclient and skipped the patching.

when u about to download the latest patch (u can see in the name of ur update client windows box).

just wait until it writes version 0.10.0.14803

then close the client box.

after that proceed with the crack, maps, and AI step.

Well we didnt create this crack, and the developer is no longer supporting it. At the moment other people are looking into it so i will inform you guys as soon as a new and better launcher is made.

Download the Starcrack AI (easy)! thats simpler

go to SC2 directory there u have AI. In there u have the directory u selected with SC2 launcher. In that directory u have a file named AIDifficulty with the extansion .galaxy. Open with notepad this file and change const int c_difficulty = 0; to ,let’s say, const int c_difficulty = 3;
. U have 0 = Insane, 1=Very Hard, 2=Hard, 3=Medium, 4=Easy, 5=Very Easy. Also change const int c_mineralBonus = 1; to
const int c_mineralBonus = 0; so the AI doesnt get any Mineral Bonus when he harvests.
Save the file and go play. If u start to find the game to easy u can change back to 0 difficulty any time.

Here is my issue. Where is the AIDifficulty.galaxy file supposed to be? There is one in the main folder, and sometimes there is one in the specific AI folder along with the basedataAI(?) file.

when u launch the SC2 beta launcher .. u select the map. Next to the map selection area (in the right) is another selection , but for the AI u wanna use. in the folder u selected here u must change the AIDifficulty.galaxy file.

i got this problem fixed with another launcher i found, i can play the game using AI maps now but their AI is pretty easy, i took on 3v1 no problem, they dont seem to send air units… i wonder if this is insane AI because i set the difficulty 0 in the note and in game saids prepare for terrible damage….

You didnt actually download the game jet just the .torrent file. i recommend downloading utorrent (google for it) than open the torrent with that program and start downloading!

Simply exit the beta client, than it wont update… you dont have to run the beta client anyway, just launch the game true the launcher!

Updating is my guess, you are running the launcher right?

uhm so let me list my steps and see if its right or not,
i dl all the files listed above
i open the “StarCraft II Beta enUS 13891 Installer” folder and click on the install file inside
sc2 beta installs itself, and i quit after the 100%
i then open sc2betalauncher, and install it into a folder in my cdrive name sc2beta
i winrar the lazylauncher2, and move all the files in it to the cdrive folder sc2beta
then i move everything in the dl maps into the “map” folder in cdrive
and i move everything in the standard AI into the “AI” foldder
i then proceed to open sc2betalauncher, and acquire to change map/ai
but when i press play, it freezes or restart my comp….

any1 kno what im doing wrong or missing??^^ are my steps clear enough?

What are your Computer specs. its sounds to me like you can’t handle what it’s loading.

WOW WAIT i’m like SOOO close right now all thats not working is the replays i think cause, ya as i said, once i choose one and click it loads the screen but minimizes and shows me the beta launcher again and once i click play it puts this:

yea, I’ve been facing this problem too and this is my 3rd time posting about this problem… googled it and ran some searches, still no solution. I’m only facing this problem when I play a (6) player map such as Metalopolis. Other lower capacity face do not have this error.

Therefore, I’m just playing with (4) player maps =)

well, as for me, I didn’t update my SC2 at all. I downloaded it from a torrent, not from here. Not sure my SC2 belongs to which version. Didn’t bother to check because my SC2 is working just fine except for the fact that I can’t play maps with more than (4) players capacity.

I got my launcher from here, it was v0.23 the first time. Then I downloaded the v0.28. Then the latest update is just the 7.0 Cheating Edition AI.
